Daily noun drawing

Daily noun drawing

In March 2020, I took on a personal challenge that would make me get back to drawing consistently. The idea was simple: create a daily drawing based on a randomly generated noun word everyday for the entire month.
With the help of a website that provided me with a fresh noun each time I clicked refresh, I dove in. I committed to working mainly in black and white (unless color was defining for the concept), and to use just one brush throughout.
The project wasn't just all just about drawing; I need it to reconnect with my creative side. Every day brought a new word, a new concept to illustrate. This randomness injected an element of surprise and curiosity into my process, pushing me to think about the concept rather than just drawing what I wanted.
By limiting myself to black and white and using only one brush, I discovered the beauty of constraints. This approach forced me to go deep in the drawing, the line and the shading within these limitations. Trying to get the most most out of minimal resources.
